For cheap holidays to New York USA try staying in New Jersey. The Econo Lodge in Jersey City is only $69.99 a night and the Red Carpet Inn just down the street is only $77.81. This is an alternative since Jersey City is only 1.8 miles from New York City. Taking a train across into Manhattan is easy and presto you are there in the Big Apple.
Hoboken and Union City are another two cities just across the river to the west of Manhattan. Staying in New York would be nice and there are some low cost accommodations for around $100, if you want a private room. The public transportation is more reasonably prices at under $9 for an all day fare than paying an extra $50 to $100 for a room in New York City, but that's just me.
Everyone has heard the jokes that New Jersey is the arm pit of New York, but don't let that fool you. The Giants play there and so do the Jets, so it can't be that bad.
If you must stay in New York, then may I suggest Brooklyn or the Bronx. There is a lot of history there along with being part of New York City.
It is true almost all of the major attractions are in Manhattan when it comes to New York City but that does not mean you have to stay there, just a visits is generally enough for most people to say I have been on cheap holidays to New York USA.
